When your 2 year old daughter tells you that her bunny needs to be in the beer photo there is only one option. Hopefully the bunny enjoyed this beer as much as I did. ItContinue reading

Half Pints – Pothole Porter (7.9%)
I was looking forward to some Half Pints beers when visiting Winnipeg for the second time and this one didn’t disappoint. The name is very fitting for the current spring thaw as craters open unContinue reading
Cameron’s Ambear Red Ale (5%)
Smooth red ale from Cameron’s Brewing in Oakville, Ontario. Light ruby in colour with a smooth malty body and some citrus hops to finish. There is very little aftertaste which makes this ale perfect forContinue reading
Barnstormer Cirrus Session Pale Ale (4.5%)
Very easy drinking pale ale from Barnstormer Brewing in Barrie, Ontario. The ale is a great combination of a European wheat beer body and a North American IPA hopped finish. Initial hints of smooth tropicalContinue reading
Muskoka Summerweiss (5%)
Unfiltered Weiss by Muskoka which I was eager to try. Sadly I was disappointed by how light the beer is. Being unfiltered I expected more flavour but it was pretty watery. Good for drinking a large quantity but lacking flavour and body.
Black Oak Pale Ale (5%)
Amber coloured ale with soft carbonation. The body has a light to medium flavour followed quickly with crisp hops. It has some of the bite of a North American IPA but is easier drinking andContinue reading
Cause & Effect (4.7%)
Blonde beer from Nickel Brook Brewing based in Better Bitters Brewing, Burlington, Ontario. Previous Nickel Brook beers I’ve tried were going for the stronger flavour but trying a bit too hard resulting in a harshContinue reading
Eephus Oatmeal Brown Ale (5.5%)
Great ale with which is surprisingly bitter for an oatmeal ale. The initial bitterness is followed by a roasted nuttiness and then a clean finish. Very easy drinking beer, perfect with a curry or roastedContinue reading
Old Style Pilsner (5%)
Light and quite sweet, not really what I would expect from a pilsner, no bite at all. Wouldn’t really expect much more from Molson. The can looked good so I gave it a try. Not a beer I’d drink again.
