Light and quite sweet, not really what I would expect from a pilsner, no bite at all. Wouldn’t really expect much more from Molson. The can looked good so I gave it a try. Not a beer I’d drink again.

Beers
Old Crafty Hen (6.5%)
Good dark red Ale, the flavour is pretty much a standard red Ale with a stronger aftertaste because of the higher percentage. Brewed in England by Greene King, Morland Brewery.
Whitechapel Porter (5.2%)
Even though it’s called a porter I would struggle to describe it as such due to it’s lightness. It’s very dark ruby in colour with a light body, a hint of chocolate and a touch of spiciness. Brewed in Kent, England byContinue reading
Hitachino White Ale (5.5%)
This is Belgian style wheat beer similar to Hoegaarden but with a hint of coriander and a more refined, smooth flavour. I was expecting something much lighter but was pleasantly surprised by the smoothness and theContinue reading
Huyghe Belgium Wheat Beer (Tesco) (4.9%)
Unfiltered wheat beer from the Huyghe Brewery sold under the Tesco Finest brand. It’s quite cloudy even for a wheat beer as it’s unfiltered and looks good in a glass unless you’re put off byContinue reading
Hitachino Japanese Classic Ale (7%)
Quite a mellow initial flavour followed by a quick bitter bite. A little dull since the little flavour there is quickly subsides.
Hop Ottin’ IPA (7%)
Another Anderson Valley beer from California. The label says the nose sings of grapefruit, pine needles, citron, roses and bergamot. The flavour is supposed to be rich in citrusy resin flavours typical of Pacific Northwest hopsContinue reading
Boont ESB (Extra Special Beer) (6.8%)
According to the label it’s not for the light beer drinker and is best served a 45-52°F (7-11°C). The beer is a copper colour with minimal head. It’s got a bit of a bitter biteContinue reading
Hitachino Espresso Stout (7.5%)
Lighter than expected but with a real coffee flavour and aroma. A little like a stout Guinness with a shot of cold espresso.
Tesco Traditional Porter (6%)
Brewed at the Harviestoun Brewery, Alva, Scotland but sold under the Tesco brand. Pretty good porter with a solid body and smooth flavour. Went down well with a chocolate cherry muffin.
